Meet Anna and Ellie they work within our Sales and Marketing team. Anna has been with Icosa since 2017 and Ellie has been with us just over a year. Lets see what they had to say about their role within Icosa Water and equality in the utility industry.

Anna

Can you tell me a little about your role?

I work within the Sales and Marketing team managing the Icosa website, social media platforms and creating content for the company.

Can you tell me how long you’ve work in this industry?

I started at Icosa back in 2017 and worked within Customer Services and held a number of positions since This has helped me gain a better understanding of how the water industry operates. The team at Icosa have always been supportive in my development and I wouldn’t be where I am without their ongoing support.

Do believe there is a gender bias within the utilities sector?

Yes, I do believe there is gender bias within the utilities sector but there is issues for gender equality globally. I haven’t had personal experienced it with in the utility sector as I’ve always felt supported by all of my colleagues, however I have experienced it  in my day-today life. There is always more to be done.

What do you believe needs to happen to achieve gender equality in the utilities industry?

Education is the key – Opening up more opportunities to women. This starts with educating our younger generation to value people for ideas and teaching them to be confident in their own abilities.

I manage the day-to-day activities as well as supporting the Sales and Marketing Team

Can you tell me how long you’ve work in this industry?

I’ve been at Icosa 1 year and 4 months.

Do believe there is a gender bias within the utilities sector?

Yes.

What do you believe needs to happen to achieve gender equality in the utilities industry?

When people can access and enjoy equal rewards, resources, and opportunities regardless of gender.
